Exploring learner needs - deepening educational research experience
As a student assistant in the Learning to Adapt, Learning with Agency Lab led by Professor Tomohiro Nagashima within the Technology-Enhanced Learning research group at Saarland University, I contributed to a qualitative research project examining how students, teachers, and other stakeholders perceive and prefer the use of AI tools in educational settings. My work focused on the design and conduct of semi-structured interviews with teachers, as well as the analysis and interpretation of qualitative data. I also used storyboards to develop realistic user scenarios, which informed both the interview design and the analytical process. Through this experience, I further developed my skills in user-centered research, particularly in identifying educational needs, comparing stakeholder perspectives, and translating insights into design-relevant implications for digital learning systems.
